Join WWF-Norway in delivering international programmes as a programme/finance controller

Programme Controller/Finance Controller - 1 year temporary
As Programme Controller/Finance Controller in WWF-Norway, you will be part of a team of three controllers in the Design and Impact Team. The position plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance, grant management, and financial follow-up and guidance of our international programmes. Our current portfolio, primarily consisting of Norad-funded programmes, includes global tropical forests, regional sustainable fisheries, energy transition and sustainable infrastructure in emerging economies, and global and national plastics regulation and leakage reduction in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
A key part of the role is ensuring strong collaboration with WWF-country offices.
In 2025 WWF-Norway is developing new grant applications and closing several ongoing programmes. As part of developing a new portfolio we are gathering learnings from the programmes over the past five years and incorporating these into improved templates, structures and systems.
We are seeking a team player to join a team of highly dedicated colleagues. The ideal candidate has solid experience in compliance, budgeting, grant management, and financial reporting, particularly related to public funding. You enjoy a varied workday, are solution oriented, and have strong intercultural communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Support in the preparation of applications for new international programmes.
- Develop and run processes for follow-up of agreements with WWF-country offices, including contracting.
- Proactively support international programme advisors in WWF-Norway and WWF-offices in Asia, Africa and Latin America in the follow-up of international programmes.
- Quality-assure budgets, cash flow, and financial and audit reports in collaboration with international programme advisors and the finance team.
- Quality assurance and consolidation of reports to donors.
- Support on procurement processes in international programmes.
- Develop, maintain and quality assure templates.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of our documentation systems.
Qualifications:
- Higher education in a relevant financial, accounting, economy or business field.
- Experience in process management, budgeting, forecasting and/or accounting principles.
- Relevant experiences in finance management or programme control, including preparing and following up grant agreements and contracts. Candidates with other relevant experience and skill sets are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, and experience working in a multicultural context.
- Previous experience in grant management systems and complex data management is advantageous.
- Location: Oslo.
- Fluency in English is required. Competence in Norwegian considered an advantage.
